Wednesday Night Youth Club at Proud Galleries

February 13th, 2010

I’m really looking forward to this one.  So many great acts playing, such a good venue and amazing promoters – what more could one ask for?!

If you’re not convinced – check this out for a line up.

Most importantly out very own KAYV will be doing a lovely little acoustic set in the stables before our gig – busy boy!
He has got some wonderful songs check em out;

I’m very very excited to see JOY JOSEPH, love her voice and percussion talent and haven’t managed to catch her live solo stuff yet, I’ve just read her biog too – pretty impressive;
With a voice as rich as her roots and sweet as honey, Joy’s sound is bursting with a refreshing mêlée of Roots Reggae, Lovers’ Rock, Jazz and vintage Soul. A scene-stealing member of Mr Hudson & The Library, Joy Joseph is the daughter of Calypso legend Alexander D Great – inheriting steelpan/percussion skills that have graced DJ sets with the likes of Booker T and Danny Rampling.

And theres so many more……
RODNEY FISHER
Charming folk wrapped up in strings with a touch of brass, Rodney Fisher sings with a sincere quality. Rousing melodies and a great band combine for a live show that is easy to get lost in.

PLUS… in the famously intimate SOUNDBITES acoustic stables

:::PARK BENCH POET
Immersive acoustic poetry filled with sharp lyrics and a soulful tilt.

:::GLENN HODGE
Characterful and humorous tales backed by energetic strings.

DANIEL FAZZINA
Raw vocals complemented by driving, rousing acoustic melodies.

RNID

February 1st, 2010

I just wanted to give a big big shout out to the RNID for organising such a great night at the Saatchi Atrium last week.  The 1 in 7 campaign really makes you think, we shared the stage with profoundly deaf Mezzo Soprano opera singer Janine Roebuck.  Janine  became deaf at the beginning of her career, I can’t even begin to think of the impact  this would have.

To hear is to feel; listen to a certain piece of music and be relaxed,  hear a person laughing and laugh with them, hear a scream and feel chills down your spine.  Imagine not having those triggers?!

I know that I didn’t think about my ears in my raving days and will probably pay for it at a later date, just think 1 in 7 people would like to hear Jedwood sing???  Don’t be one of those people.  Look after your ears!

Saatchi RNID and A Night of Sound

January 24th, 2010

On Thursday we are playing at the M&C Saatchi Atrium to help RNID  raise awareness of their current ‘1 in 7′ campaign, which highlights the shocking fact – 1 in 7 people in the UK, (that’s almost 9 million), have a hearing loss and may not even know it.

For one night only, join RNID for the exclusive A Night of Sound event. With acts including the legendary Judge Jules, opera sensation Janine Roebuck, the acclaimed beatboxer Layth and up-and-coming funk, soul diva Angel Anderson.

We’re really excited about this one, its a great campaign very close to our hearts and ears!

The gig is invite only but  you can win tickets on the RNID face book page
